About this objectThis vase in T-material with clay slips shows the influence of Hans Coper, a well known German-born British potter.
Born in Shuhali (Yemen), Abdo Nagi was a goatherd until he left his village aged 12 to get an education in Aden. He came to Letchworth Garden City in 1967, where he settled and raised his family, working as a technician in the Art Department at North Herts College in the 1970s. His work drew inspiration from the desert landscape of his homeland.
