Ros Allwood – Cultural Services Manager

As head of the Museum Service, Ros is responsible for the finances and strategic direction of the service.

Keith Fitzpatrick-Matthews – Museum Curator and Heritage Access Officer

Keith cares for, manages and develops the museum collections to standards required for Museum Accreditation. He is responsible for liaising with archaeological contractors for the deposition of their finds and archives. He also delivers outreach for the museum (especially talks and walks), manages the Local Studies Centre and is responsible for identifying object enquiries.

Matthew Platt – Assistant Curator

Matthew assists with the day-to-day running of the museum, helping to manage the collections and cataloguing as well as delivering activities within the museum.

Cas Sanders – Museum Curator and Learning Officer

Cas manages and delivers the Museum Learning Service, including the Museum Education Loans Service. She also organises holiday and other workshops at the museum.

Alison Bates – Education Apprentice

Alison assists Cas with the Museum Education service, both visiting schools and with internally held learning events.

Rebecca Barkus – Digital Audience Development Officer

Rebecca is helping us to reach a wider audience by developing our digital outreach, a role she also performs for Hitchin Town Hall.

Evan Tanswell

Evan works with Rebecca on widening our social media outreach and promoting events held in the Museum as well as Hitchin Town Hall.

Patricia, Brenda, Ali, Nicky, Joe, Joelle and Nicola welcome all visitors, give brief gallery tours, work on Reception and sell shop items.

Ian Day – Museum Technician

Ian produces and maintains the display and exhibition furniture throughout North Hertfordshire Museum and Hitchin Town Hall. He assists with the set up and take down of temporary exhibitions, and maintains and repairs Museum Education Loans cases and handling objects, as well as checking and maintaining environmental monitoring equipment throughout North Hertfordshire Museum/Hitchin Town Hall.

Caroline Traylen – Support Officer
Magda Rea – Support Officer
Lucy Mirza – Support Officer

Caroline, Magda and Lucy provide administrative support for all aspects of the Museum and Hitchin Town Hall. They also staff the Town Hall Reception Desk, greeting visitors and answering the telephone.
