About this objectA ceramic place with decoration inspired by an aerial view of the landscape of the artist’s childhood in Yemen, with desert, mountains and water.
Born in Shuhali (Yemen), Abdo Nagi was a goatherd until he left his village aged 12 to get an education in Aden. He came to Letchworth Garden City in 1967, where he settled and raised his family, working as a technician in the Art Department at North Herts College in the 1970s. His work drew inspiration from the desert landscape of his homeland.
