About this objectBlack and white team photograph of famous Polish football team K.S. Cracovia. Donated by the Secretary of K.S. Cracovia to the football museum of Hitchin. The handwritten message on the reverse reads "The picture of contemporary team of the oldest Polish F.C "Cracovia" Kracow - Poland November 15th 1962. To the first World Museum of Football in Hitchin".
Cracovia's secretary had read with excitement in "World Soccer" magazine in August 1961, about the emergence of the world's first football museum. He believed the red and white stipes of Cracovia should take a place amongst the gems of local, national and world football history on show as Poland's oldest and one of its most successful teams.
