About this objectWoman's fontange fan, with linen leaf becoming narrower at each side. Sticks and guards of white painted wood with crude silver floral design. One side of leaf covered with white feathers, the other painted with 4 butterflies by F L Griggs.
The fan belonged to Miss Emma Jeeves, for whom the artist painted the butterflies after a dance in 1901.
