About this objectAttic Room a watercolour by William Ratcliffe. Cottage bedroom with green floral wallpaper. Pair of boots in centre by wall, jug in window alcove; bed, chair & sideboard; rug on floor. This is a watercolour of an oil now in the Tate collection. This is the room Ratcliffe slept in while he stayed at his brother’s house. His first job had been as a pattern designer in London for the Wallpaper Combine which may be why the wallpaper in this picture is so detailed.
