Brian Limbrick was born in October 1931 and died in May 2013 aged 81. He was a well known local figure who founded the Offley Morris Men in 1955. The tankard lists him as "Squire". The Squire position within Morris tradition as silimar to a Chairman.
The Offley Morris Men, formed by Brian, performed locally and nationally until their farewell tour in 2016.
Outside of his involvement with the Offley Morris Men, Brian was a prominent local figure in Hitchin. Saving the British School building and founding the British Schools Musuem in 1993. For his services to the history of education he was awarded an MBE in 2003.
