Langley’s entry in Domesday Book.
Minsden, now a ruined chapel near Stagenhoe, was a Domesday manor encompassing several smaller hamlets and farmsteads. The chapel was probably never part of a village and was created as a chapel-of-ease to allow people to be baptised, marry and buried without having to travel to the parish church in Hitchin.
