Clones, Queens and Ladyboys: the archaeology of Queer gender identity

Gender has become a contested term in recent years and even described as an ‘ideology’. 

This talk questions the idea that there are two genders determined by biological sex. Instead, it shows how gender has always been negotiated and contested, how individuals have made their own way through life without fitting into society’s norms. The only ‘gender ideology’ is the one that tries to force all humans into one of two limited categories.
