Accessibility & Facilities

We are committed to providing an accessible experience for all visitors.

Our museum site is fully accessible for wheelchair users and buggies, with two wheelchairs also available for visitor use. Entry into the building is via a platform lift that accommodates standard wheelchairs and buggies (please note: it is not suitable for mobility scooters). A separate passenger lift then provides access to all floors.

Accessible Toilets & Baby Changing

Accessible toilets are located on both the ground and second floor. The ground floor facilities include a separate Ladies and Gents toilet block, both of which have baby changing units.

Additional Needs & Visual Guide

To assist with information, large print gallery text and labels are provided throughout, with Braille and additional large print guides available for every gallery; please ask at the reception desk.

For each new temporary exhibition, we will aim to have a quiet opening for neurodivergent visitors.

Please view our visual guide for more details on what you should expect when visiting the museum.
