North Herts Museum School Sessions - Tudor Lives

School Workshop Session

Tudor Lives

  • Science, History & Art

Don’t be a fool book our Tudor Lives workshop and let your class have a royal time!

In our Tudor Lives workshop students will step back in time to experience life in the court of the Tudors.

They’ll handle both real and replica objects from the era, examine Tudor costume and get a chance to dress in period attire. We will teach the art of bowing and curtsying adding a touch of royal etiquette. Students will also play with Tudor toys inspired by Peter Brueghel’s ‘Kinderspiele’ giving them a glimpse into Tudor childhood.

Finally, they’ll discover the craft of woodblock printing, creating their own Tudor rose prints as they follow in the footsteps of a printing apprentice.

This session can also be made to a Tudor Christmas workshop with the addition of more games, learning to dance and finding out about the Lord of Misrule and Twelfth Night.
