North Herts Museum School Sessions - WWI - A soldiers life

School Workshop Session

WW1 – A soldier’s life

  • History

Step into the trenches of World War One and bring the realities of a soldier’s life to your classroom.

In our immersive WW1 Soldiers life workshop, students will get hands-on experience as they handle a real gas mask and explore the intriguing world of trench art, examining original artefacts from both sides of the war.

Students will try on different types of helmets and investigate their features, and don authentic clothing to see firsthand how these garments helped soldiers withstand the harsh conditions of the trenches.

Alongside these interactive activities, students will learn the real stories of soldiers, gaining a deeper understanding of the human experiences behind the history.
