Making a Mark

People from our area are amazing! They make a mark on history every day, from life altering moments on a local scale to involvement with world changing events.

This talk will highlight the stories of a number of amazing local people, some names you may recognise, and many may be new to you.

From James Hack Tuke whose work allowed thousands to escape famine in Ireland and emigrate to North America to Dr Winifred Symonds, who fought through a sexist world to become the first female GP in Hitchin.
