More than a site: how ancient Baldock linked with the wider world
It can be easy for archaeologists working in a specific place to focus inwards, to understand its dynamics, its people and its development over time.
Ancient Baldock has been the subject of research since the 1920s, often looking at individual parts of the town. However, it lay at the centre of a network of farms and villages, linked by roads that go further afield and ultimately connected the town with the Roman Empire.
