Roman Detectives
- History
- Roman
Let your class step into the sandals of the Ancient Romans in this interactive Roman Detectives workshop.
In this Roman Detectives workshop students will delve into the daily life of Romans through a series of engaging activities. They will examine and ‘dig up’ real roman artefacts to uncover insights about a local roman family, exploring what they discarded items reveal about their lifestyle. They will dress up as wealthy senators and roman legionaries, gaining a tangible sense of Roman society’s hierarchy. The class will have an opportunity to try on a soldier’s helmet and a gladiator’s helmet, discovering the differences between these pieces of equipment.
To complete the experience, students will hold a sword and shield to feel the tools that defined Roman military skills.
