Learn the traditional craft of rag rug making in this two-part workshop designed for beginners and improvers. Over two evening sessions, you will turn old clothing into a unique keepsake rug while learning techniques you can continue at home.

In week one, we will focus on learning the rag rug technique and designing your rug to suit your décor. By the end of the session, you will have the skills and confidence to continue working independently between classes.
Bring your work in progress back for week two, where we will add detail, develop your design and learn how to finish your rug neatly and securely.

This mindful, repetitive craft is relaxing and satisfying, allowing your design to build steadily without feeling rushed. The aim is to give you the skills to complete your rug by Christmas without becoming frazzled.

Please bring along felted jumpers, favourite T-shirts or clothes that are too small or slightly damaged to reuse in your design. Materials will be available if you do not have anything suitable to bring. Tuition and hooks are provided, you bring the imagination.

NO prior experience is necessary. Children over the age of 13 are welcome on a booked space with an adult.
