Creative Family Workshops: Commemorating the British West Indies Regiment in the Great War.

Join Learning Through The Arts for a creative family workshop inspired by the history and legacy of the British West Indies Regiment (BWIR), whose members served during the First World War.

Through hands-on art activities, families will explore themes of remembrance, peace and community while learning about this important chapter of history. Choose from two creative workshops designed to encourage reflection, discussion and self-expression.

Special Poppies

10.45am to 12.15pm

Create special black poppies to honour and remember soldiers of the British West Indies Regiment. Using a variety of materials, participants will create their own commemorative artwork while learning about the contributions and sacrifices of BWIR servicemen.

T-Shirt with a Peace Message

12.45pm to 2.15pm

Design your own emblem and create a personalised T-shirt featuring a message of peace for the future. This imaginative workshop encourages creativity while exploring ideas about remembrance, community and building a more peaceful world.

Suitable for families and children. All materials are provided.
