Fairgrounds for the Dead: Neolithic North Herts

The Neolithic (about 4000-2350 BC) saw the first farmers open up the landscape to grow crops and keep livestock. 

They also created the first monuments that we know about, from burial mounds to causewayed enclosures, from cursus to henges. What so many of these places have in common is that they are associated with their communities’ dead as well as social gatherings. This talk explores the meanings behind them.
