Ippolyts is the current spelling for the name of a parish south of Hitchin that has been written in many different ways over the centuries. It contains the communities of St Ippollitts, the main settlement, Gosmore and St Ibbs.

The manor of Almshoe was the precursor of the community of St Ippollitts.
