North Hertfordshire Museum invites visitors to step inside the human body this summer as it welcomes the return of the interactive exhibition, ‘Blood and Bone’. Running from 4 July to 20 September 2026, this free, family-friendly showcase features massive inflatable sculptures that transform human biology into an immersive terrain for all ages to explore.

Back by popular demand, this eye-catching inflatable sculpture installation was enjoyed by thousands of visitors when it was originally shown at the Museum in 2019. It was the first exhibition ever held at North Herts Museum, so bringing it back is a fitting way to mark the venue’s seventh birthday.

The creative makers behind the project, ‘Space Cadets Air Design’, are renowned for being the inventors of the unexpected. For this exhibition, the artists have taken direct inspiration from the cells and microscopic organisms that live inside our bodies, constructing large-scale, playful structures designed to spark curiosity and visual excitement.

Visitors can crawl through, listen to, and touch larger-than-life structures, including giant breathing tunnels and sensory caves that mimic internal organs, blood cells, and bone structures. The installation combines unique textures and ambient sounds to provide an accessible learning experience for all ages.

Packed with captivating features and interactive elements for children, ‘Blood and Bone’ offers an exciting biological adventure that makes for a memorable, educational day out for the whole family.
