Join us in uncovering the powerful local stories of the anti-slavery movement!
In this session we will investigate the lives of those who marched and demonstrated during the anti-slavery movement. We will explore the lives of the freed slaves who visited the local area, campaigning for justice and equality. Notably, we know Black people were part of this community during the 1840s and 1850’s and through our research we aim to uncover and celebrate more of these local, often untold stories.
We hope to inspire deeper connections to the past and empower students to learn from the resilience of those living in and visiting North Herts.
