The Story of Windrush Migrants

North Hertfordshire Museum are delighted to present this new exhibition.
Curated by Learning Through the Arts, the exhibition commemorates the 75th anniversary of the arrival to the UK of 493 passengers on The Empire Windrush. This ‘Windrush Generation’, arriving from 1948, had heeded the call of the government to travel to Britain and help rebuild a nation which had been shattered by the Second World War. The exhibition illustrates the invaluable contributions of both the Windrush passengers and subsequent generations, to British life.
