Anglo Saxon England: The Fall of an Empire, the Rise of a Kingdom
24 January @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm£4.50
Modern England traces its roots to the Anglo-Saxons, a Germanic people who settled in the ruins of Roman Britain. Historians and archaeologists have long questioned the scale of that settlement and the contribution of the indigenous British population to the development of society from the fifth to ninth centuries.
Archaeologist Keith Fitzpatrick-Matthews presents a very personal view in an attempt to answer these questions.
