A Commute through Time: History in the Station Underpass

31 August @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Have you seen the colourful photo murals at Hitchin Railway Station?

The large panels at Hitchin Station feature lots of photos from North Hertfordshire Museum’s collection, separated into themes. Join Matt, our Assistant Curator, who had the difficult but fascinating challenge of exploring our vast holdings and selecting the final photos for the display. This talk brings seven of these panels out of the underpass and into our museum for a closer look, Matt will delve into his most favourite photos from the project and explain what these amazing images show us.

Themed panels which will feature as the core of this talk are:

Recreation
Shop frontages
Transport
Historic Moments
Football
Faces
and Agriculture

Join us for this evening talk by Matthew Platt at North Hertfordshire Museum.

The cost is £5 including tea or coffee. Tickets can be booked through Art Tickets and at the Museum front desk.
